Letter to the City of San Jose council:
Deny allowing private commercial
development on Evergreen Valley College land (GP16-007)
In a letter to the City Council of San Jose, the president of EvergreenFriends.org provides a basis for which the City Council should vote against the proposed private commercial use of Evergreen college land.  The council is scheduled to vote on December 13 on the proposal.  Expressed basis of opposition:

● Original State bond funding to purchase the land prohibits commercial use

Click here to see a State voter approved education bond that excludes commercial use of the land acquired with the funding (1962)
● Approval would exacerbate the existing denial of equal public education against east San Jose residents
